The upper control arm bushings are usually show signs of age on most cars. The rubber becomes worn out, hard, and sloppy. This play reduces the tight feel of the sporty steering and suspension.
If you are unsure if your bushings are worn out, jack the front end of the car up so both wheels are off the ground. Using a pry-bar try to lift the control arm or force it down. If it moves, the bushings are worn out and the complete arm should be replaced.
Be careful when ordering them as they are different from side to side - Each arm has a letter stamped into it L or R indicated which side is which. (R being driver side, L being passenger side)
